I was at a wedding last year and when it came time for the dollar dance, they announced that since you can't buy much with a dollar anymore, they are having the $5 dance!!

I was appauled!   I always bring ones for the dollar dance.  I didn't even participate since they said this.

What would you think?

Times are changing and the economy is down. That is one way to raise money too! LOL

I guess it's okay if that's what they want to do, but I would imagine alot less people would pay to dance with the bride!  Personally, I like the traditional dollar dance.

Haha, that's a bit funny. It is  part of a wedding and should not be done for financial purposes. If I were in the wedding, I will not participate either. I doesn't make sense that to dance with a bride, we have to pay the same amount we could use to dance with 5 brides in the past.

Since the dollar dance is a tradition, so it should remain. Just because the cost of living is going up, it doesn't mean that we have to pay more to dance with the bride. I would have probably said something to that effect if I were at that wedding, lol!

yeah i agree with you on that..its better that this traditon will remain and should not be change..its a voluntary thing and we should put some pressure on the guests..
