Bubbles

After the ceremony is all said and done, the bride and groom come out of the church. Most people blow bubbles at them. What are some other things you have seen?
My neice wanted to have doves let off when they came out of the church. It would have cost a fortune, so they stuck with the bubbles.
By the way, you can get packages of those bubbles at the dollar store in the wedding section.
Never give up dreams for others opinions or your wedding and marriage will not be yours! i like the smoke machine idea but bubbles are romantic.....if someone says that's stupid then say dont come or i guess you wont be having at yours so that's good because i cant wait to see what stupid thing you choose to do lol congrates
I know 20 years or so ago, birdseed was all the rage for showering the couple as they exited the church. As I recall, it was the preference of churches as well as it was earlier to clean up and the birds would help with that process. The thing I like are the small ribbon or paper streamers that unroll as you throw them. I think they look beautiful as they're thrown. I just don't know what the clean up is like.
I had a friend who did birdseed at her wedding. It was fun to throw until pieces of birdseed started going down inside the front of my bridesmaid dress! It felt disgusting and I could exaclly just reach down there and try to remove it.
Also, I think people sometimes throw rice, don't they? I personally like bubbles.
As an alternative to rice and birdseed, many couples choose to have their guests shower them with old-fashioned wedding bubbles. Wedding bubbles are a whimsical addition to your special day. Hand out small bottles of wedding bubbles after the ceremony and watch as guests young and old greet you with a cascade of romantic bubbles. To give your guests a little fun to take home, place the wedding bubbles at the reception as part of your wedding favors.
wedding bubbles come in a wonderful array of bottle styles. Adorable champagne flute wedding bubbles, "yummy" cake wedding bubbles, twin dove bubbles and more. Bottled in pure and pretty white, wedding bubbles are an enchanting accent to this magical occasion. For a festive touch, wrap the wedding bubbles in a personalized ribbon that matches your theme colors.
The precise spherical shape, the incredibly fragile nature of the microscopically thin soap film, the beautiful colors that swirl and shimmer, or most likely, a combination of all these phenomena? Why does a bubble form a sphere at all? Why not a cube, tetrahedron, or other geometrical figure? Let's look at the forces that mold bubbles.

make it colour full .... becz wedding is some thing happens once in everyones life ... so that should be made as big as possible
One of my wealthier friends had white butterflies thrown and flying around them after their silver anniversary wedding. It was unique and breathtaking. Most weddings here in the Philippines have rice and flower petals thrown to the bride and groom as they march out of the church.
We did bubbles at my wedding 6 years ago. Rice is not really allowed any more... but I have also seen bird seed thrown also. I haven't really seen much different than that, other than maybe flower petals.
Wow, I've never seen bubbles blown at weddings. I must be so out of it. It's always rice or bird seed here. Bubbles would be neat too though. I'm going to keep that in mind for people's upcoming weddings. How neat.
They don't allow rice around here because the birds will eat it and it must not be good for them. I am not a fan of the birdseed because all I can picture are a bunch of birds attacking the bride and groom!!
The bubbles are also fun for the kids. They love taking the extras home with them.
Birdseed and rice tend to be pelted by the "not so funny" friends of the groom. I love the bubbles, but I have also see people use sparklers. I thought about using them when we were considering a New Year's Eve wedding, but the thought of something catching fire scared me. I've seen them work for others and they were beautiful. It's just a little risky.
WOW! they are using bubles instead of flowers? In our place, I haven't attened a wedding that uses bubles, but this could be a cute idea. Perhaps, I have to suggest this to my cousin who is soon be getting married.
Sparklers would be a great thing to use for a night wedding. How cool would that look when the bride and groom appear outside of the church, everyone holding sparklers.

well in my country i saw rice were thrown at them(couple) as sign of properity on their union..
Bubbles is a wonderful idea. I wish I'd have had those at my wedding...well maybe next time - only joking LOL!!!
We have confetti or rice. The rice can hurt if you get hit in the face with it though.
Doves are very romantic but I haven't seen bubbles. Flowers also are wonderful but very common. I think doves with church's bell ringing are very great.
This forum is the first place where I've heard about using bubbles. It sounds like a very interesting idea; but don't they get sticky as they pop? We had used flower petals and it was very pretty as well.
