Thailand is pretty good value. You can choose from a a huge range of accommodation and the drinks and food in local bars and restaurants are really cheap.
However my favourite place in SE Asia is off the north east coast of Malaysia. They are the Pulau Perhentian islands- Besar and Cecil.
I went there when i was travelling 4 years ago and they were heavenly but cheap. You need to book your own transport and accommodation as i don't think tour operators go there but it is well worth it.
Also I understand that South India is lovely and affordable- Kerala and Goa, but i have never been! Well not yet...

South East Asia retains a timeless beauty and mystique that creates the perfect mood for newlyweds.  A honeymoon of pure exploration and discovery awaits for those who wish to travel to a land where they have not yet ventured.

Explore amazing landscapes, temples and palaces with Eastern & Oriental express and then retreat to paradise to one of the many Orient-Express properties.

One of the most popular destinations of world travelers, the countries that make up Southeast Asia offer visitors a plethora of sights, sounds and activities that are as unique as the countries themselves. From relaxing on a beach in Bali to riding an elephant in Northern Thailand, there is truly something there for everyone....namely India, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia,Phillioines, Taiwan, Vietnam....etc

Another good location in SE Asia that could offer what you're asking for is in the Philippines. Most of beaches and resorts in Philippines are really great, specially Boracay beaches and Palawan's.

Find the most wonderful and affordable beach resorts and hotels in the Philippines. The place is simply beautiful and the people are so kind and hospitable. You won't regret it.

True. Filipinos are really hospitable. They are even known thorughout the world as such people. They also have beutiful places there. They are in the equator so they are also in the tropics as well. I've seen some of their beaches. They're really great specially at night. You won't also have to be worried about security since all of the people there really cares about almost everyone. If anything happens to you, people in the area won't hesitate to help you.
