I really want a formal to semi-formal wedding with a rich romantic feeling. Almost everyone on my FDH family side doesn't ever dress up and thinks that a flannel button up and clean jeans is dressy (they're all farm people) not like there's anything wrong with that. I just would like to have a well put together wedding without worrying that it's too much for the guests and don't want to make anyone feel uncomfortable. Am I just worrying about nothing? I know to put semiformal on the invite or on the website correct?

This is a tricky one.  People can be offended if you are telling them what to wear to your wedding.

I was once invited to a wedding and the bride said NO JEANS.  She was married at a campground and many people didn't feel they shoud dress all up to go to a camp.

You can put that the reception is semi-formal, but don't plan on everyone dressing to the tee.

Also, maybe you could try to spread the word by mouth that it is semi-formal.  Like casually drop it into the conversation once in a while?
