Do grooms also suffer anxiety or stress before, and during the wedding day?

I bet they do.  They are loosing their freedom after all!

When my son was married, the minister told the best man that his responsibility was to keep the groom in his office and make sure he doesn't escape.

I don't think they suffer as much stress as the brides do simply because usually the brides are the ones planning the wedding and wanting everything to be perfect. But I think the fact that you are about to marry a person and commit yourself to them, is enough to cause anyone a little anxiety.

Yes, they do. My best friend was a walking disaster from the time they set the date until after their wedding. I'll have to say, it was funny seeing him worry about everything but I also felt really bad for him. He was stressed about his in-laws, the wedding day and even about his honeymoon. I kept telling him to relax and suggested that he took some time alone, away from all the preparations but since he was such a control freak, he wouldn't listen. Needless to say, when he looks back to those days now, he gets a chuckle out of it.

What!? Really!? Ha ha ha. That seems to be a fun thought. What made the minister think that your son might think of escaping? Does he not love the woman he's gonna marry?

Hear hear! That's true. One might even think of second thoughts about it since he or she might suddenly have the thought of ending up with the wrong one.

Ha ha! You know I really love seeing those kinds of grooms. Majority of grooms are like that in my opinion.

Just would like to add to this thread. I am going to be married soon. I think a pang of anxiety is quite normal. Or so I think. As of this moment, there's always that feeling of being anxious. Yet again my love to my girl wins over everything else.
