Commonly the bride's mother will organize the guest list, coordinating with the groom's mother. I just wonder how she decides who are invited. Like how many percents guest of the bride side and how many percents those of the groom side will be invited. Is there any standard, or we have to make our own judgment?

For my wedding, we just invited all of his family and friends, all of my family and friends, and people from our church.  Really, we didn't just limit it to the being the mother's responsibility, we all chipped in to get the list together.

I actually made my own list with my husband - We invited everyone in our families and our close friends. The number of people on each side was not an issue at all as we just wanted to be with our loved ones during our special day, plus, neither of us has big families, so it was a no brainer actually.
