Long Term Relationship Before the Wedding

I got married without an engagement period or a gettig-to-know-you-better relationship. And I am not happy with where I am now, even after 25 years of marriage. I think it is better to live-in with your partner first and get to know each other better before you decide whether you could live with him for better or for worse for the rest of your life.
