I know my wedding is not for a while, but this was just a question that I had about the table set up. We have a lot of people who don't really know others and will kinda just mesh with everyone and we really don't want to go through the hassle of setting up tables. Would it look completely unorganized if we just had open seating? I mean obviously the parents and grandparents of the bride will have a different table but other than that just let people sit where they want to?

I think it is better to have open seating.  This way people can decide where they want to sit on their own.  If they get a table far away from the head table, they can't complain that they were placed there.  Of course, have place cards set out for the immediate family.

I suggest an open seating arrangement where everyone can choose where and with whom they want to be seated.

I plan on having open seating. I want my wedding to be laid back and not feel too formal, so that everyone feels like they can have a great time. I think the guests will be more comfortable with open seating.
