Wedding Flowers for Past/Present Brides?

If you had or will have a florist do your flowers, what was/is your budget or what did you get for your money? Just trying to get an idea of what others have spent on their florist.

I'm in shock that flowers are so expensive!

When we planned our wedding we intended to have real flowers but just like you we were shocked at the price.  We also had another problem which was the weather.  Our wedding was to take place in January 09 and the climate where we live would mean the temperature would be below zero and the flowers would freeze very quickly.  We finally chose silk flowers but added sprays of clear crystals to the bouquets.  They looked real and it was great to be able to have them a keepsakes.

There were tulips, roses and other flowers,what i felt was that he spoiled this money but he feels that its necessary in a wedding as it looks great with so many flowers...
