Who is in charge of the bills in your house?

We are not married yet, but we live together. We have always sat down together and paid the bills. I have a friend who knows nothing about her bills because her husband pays them all. She just gives him part of her paycheck each week. I think that is strange. What do you think?

Actually I believe many couples do that. Some people are more budget savvy than others and some really have no interest in trying to budget or pay bills either one. I think as long as it is a mutual agreement then it doesn't really matter who does the bookkeeping.

I couldn't imagine not knowing what was coming in the house for bills and what was going out for money. My friend has no clue. She says she doesn't even want to know because it is less stress on her.
