I would love for my fiance and I to write our own vows but we are having trouble, is there anyplace that anyone knows that has suggestions? I just need a general direction of where to go with them.

The Bible is a great source of inspiration for vows. Look in the Book of Psalms or search for marriage or weddings. http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm+1&version=NIV

I would check online.   When my boys were trying to figure out a toast to do for my sons wedding, they searched online and there were tons of toasts.  I bet there are guidelines on writing different vows too.

When my sister got married, they wrote their vows. I think that could be helpful since you are talking in front of many people. Both of you should help each other in constructing what to say. Write down what is in your heart. How about that?

Well, I agree with you, mrsjuice. It is always the best if both of you will be the one to make it because, of course, it's you vows. I have a friend, during the wedding preparation, I noticed that it was only the bride who is creating the vow. Hmm, this is really unfair, guys. :(

Then what was the guy was doing, mrshabagat? That is very much unfair. They have to help each other to create a vow because they are the one who is going to get married. :)

Vows? I prefer to have the traditonal vows written in the bible.  But it seems that to make it more unique we rather have it our own.  Good idea.  It will become more meaningful.  I think it's now time to think a best and perfect vows.

I am a traditionalist, but if you do want to write your own, just speak from the heart.
